ARRIVAL PIER, FOUR SEASONS RESORT

Lead Structural Engineer for design of the Arrivals Pier at the world class Four Seasons Resort in Nevis. The Arrival Pier served as the iconic location for arriving and departing guests for the waterfront resort.  The pier was severely damaged during Hurricane Omar. Responsibilities included evaluation of existing dock structure to identify components to be salvaged and incorporated into new pier design, development of design basis including wave forces, wind loads and vessel mooring/berthing. Design and development of composite pier included steel piling, concrete pile plugs, timber superstructure, removable pump access panels, timber railing, skirting and shade structure supports. Completed periodic site visits to observe construction progress and reviewed shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs, design and supervised pile load testing and design/review of construction alternatives.
